Q: Why does Atlanta need a fintech week?
Atlanta doesn’t need more validation as a fintech hub. It already processes the majority of U.S. payments and is home to the infrastructure powering global commerce.
Most fintech weeks focus on what’s new. Atlanta is uniquely positioned because it sits at the center of what actually runs.
What’s been missing is a moment to bring the ecosystem together in a way that’s intentional and meaningful for the community.
Atlanta Fintech Week is about reconnecting the industry to that foundation, while also creating space for real connection across the ecosystem and highlighting what’s next across digital assets, embedded finance, and AI.
Atlanta has always been where fintech runs. This week is where it connects.
Q: For those of us who have not been to a “fintech week,” what should we expect?
This isn’t a single conference. It’s a city-wide experience.
Throughout the week, companies, startups, universities, and ecosystem partners will host curated events. That includes panels, private roundtables, networking events, and hands-on sessions.
The goal is simple: create real access. Not just content, but meaningful connections.
Q: Who would benefit from attending?
If you touch financial services in any way, this week is for you. That includes:
Atlanta Fintech Week is intentionally designed to connect all levels of the ecosystem.
Q: What types of companies, government, education, etc. should participate and what does that look like? Can you provide some examples?
The strength of Atlanta is the diversity of players shaping the industry. We expect participation across:
Participation can look different depending on the organization. Some will host events, others will sponsor, and many will engage and build relationships throughout the week.
Q: In addition to learning and networking, should we expect some fun?
Absolutely. Atlanta has a strong culture and we want that to show up.
There will be curated experiences throughout the week that go beyond traditional programming. Think smaller, high-quality gatherings where real conversations happen.
Q: Who is helping to create Atlanta Fintech Week?
This is a community-driven effort. It’s being shaped by leaders across the ecosystem including industry operators, startups, and organizations like the Georgia Fintech Academy and Fintech Atlanta, along with a broader network of partners contributing programming and ideas.
That’s what makes it different. It’s not owned by one organization.
Q: What do you need to ensure a successful week?
Participation and intention.
We’re not trying to create the biggest event. We’re focused on creating the most connected one. That means:
If we get that right, the outcomes will follow.
Q: For companies and people looking to get involved, what are you looking for and how should they learn more?
We’re looking for organizations that want to contribute to the ecosystem, not just show up. That could mean:
There will be a structured way to submit events and get involved, and we’re keeping it accessible so a range of organizations can participate.
Q: While we have you, can you give us an update on the Georgia Fintech Academy?
The Georgia Fintech Academy continues to focus on one core mission: connecting talent, industry, and opportunity.
We support students across 25 universities in Georgia and have connected thousands of students to internships and early career roles in fintech. Today, we’re engaging over 12,000 learners across the state, with more than 3,400 placements into financial services and fintech roles since launch.
What’s evolving is the level of engagement with industry. We’re working more closely with partners to align curriculum, expand hands-on learning, and ensure students are building skills that translate directly into the workforce.
For companies and individuals looking to get involved, there are several ways to plug in. You can volunteer as a guest speaker, serve as a mentor, or share job opportunities ranging from internships to full-time roles.
Atlanta Fintech Week is a natural extension of that work. It creates more visibility, more access, and more connection between the next generation of talent and the industry.
