American Banker and Bank Technology News, SourceMedia’s industry-leading publications for financial services professionals, and IDC Financial Insights, an independent research services firm, are now accepting nominations for the annual FinTech 100 rankings. Now in its sixth year, the FinTech 100 is the industry’s only ranking to formally recognize the top 100 global technology and service providers to the financial services industry.
The rankings will be published in the October 29, 2009 issue of American Banker and the November issue of Bank Technology News as a special report that will contain detailed statistics and profiles on the top suppliers of hardware, software and services to the financial services industry, paired with expert analysis and commentary on the industry. Companies wishing to be considered for the ranking can access the submission guidelines online at: http://survey.financial-insights.com/html.pro?ID=7. The deadline for submission is July 15, 2009.
“Bank executives look to the FinTech 100 as independent confirmation of the health and stature of their trusted technology and service providers, making it one of the most important metrics in the industry,” said Rebecca Sausner, editor-in-chief of Bank Technology News. “This year’s challenging economic environment—for banks and their vendors—underscores the need for qualified, updated information about all the companies that serve the industry.”
"The FinTech 100 rankings offer valuable insights into transformations currently taking place within the financial services industry," said Dana Wiklund, research director of risk management for IDC Financial Insights. "The global financial crisis has had a material impact on the financial services industry, data points from the FinTech rankings will help define which companies have been best able to leverage opportunities within a dynamic technology market sector."
As in previous years, the ranking will be based on quantifiable, verifiable data, public information and personal interviews conducted by IDC Financial Insights to ensure the accuracy of the information. The FinTech 100 rankings evaluate and rank companies based on the total worldwide revenue they derived from the financial services industry in their primary line of business (hardware, software, services) during the CY 2008.
2009’s ranked companies will be formally recognized at a special event hosted in conjunction with the annual BAI Retail Delivery Conference & Expo (Nov. 3-5, Boston).
