(L-R, Bill Mills, 2008 scholarship recipient Laura Jasen, Eloise Mills)
During the 2008 College of Communication of Florida State University Honors Recognition Ceremony, FSU student, Laura Jasen, was awarded this year’s Bill and Eloise Mills Scholarship. The scholarship was established more than five years ago in the names of William Mills Agency founders and FSU alumni, William E. “Bill” Mills, Jr., and Eloise Mills, to honor both their dedication to their alma mater and to play a role in assisting students with the financial costs of pursuing an undergraduate degree in Communication. Selection is based on multiple factors, including exceptional academic abilities and proven leadership. The Dean of the College of Communication, the Chair of the Communication Department and one faculty member select scholarship recipients.
“We established this scholarship to honor the contributions that both Bill and Eloise have made to our agency, Florida State University, and our profession,” said Scott Mills, president of William Mills Agency. “It brings us great pleasure and pride to have the opportunity to award this scholarship to outstanding students like Laura each year, and our hope is that this scholarship will continue to serve as a stepping stone to success for future generations of professional communicators.”
Contributions to the scholarship fund can be made through the FSU Foundation. For Further information regarding the scholarship, call (850) 644-1864.
